Damn, that's not half bad, that.

Unless my eyes deceive me, is that an Aqua-Tube in the bottom there?

Also, what're you using as a rad?

      Cheers!

That's right, an aquatube in there, and the rad, well, I got it from a German watercooling store and it's called "Innovatek Dual"

I got some more details on another board (in German, but you'll be fine with the specs and pics) right here: http://www.innovatek.de/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1376

Ahhh, Innovatek. I love their tubing accessories, but never really used their blocks/radiators. I've always been a Thermochill fan, or in one case, a Peugeot 206 radiator >.>

        How was it performance wise?

I never really thought about the brand much, since a mate of mine hooked me up with the parts (he had a special store discount *g*).

Oh the parts were cool enough alright, and it was quiet. But too much of a hassle to maintain so I abandoned it eventually.

            Ahh. Discounts rock :D

I know what you mean about hassle - I simply couldn't move my case (When I had a Thermaltake Armor it weighed in about 40 kilos without water, and the loop took about three litres of water), not that I'd have wanted to with that much water in it.

I'm only getting back into it because the fan noise on the 3870's is driving me mad overnight.

Holy, 40 kilos! Mine was a lightweight in comparison, only swallowing .75 litres :D

But I know, the noise of a watercooling system (or rather, the lack of it) is so great!

I'm hoping my new loop doesn't take so much water, I've stepped down the tubing size, res size and number of blocks, so here's hoping.

You're so right, the lack of noise is lovely.

But I have to admit, this Intel cooler that came with my e6600 is completely silent too, 1000rpm, at a constant 30-35°C. The only thing tat is remotely noisy is the 7950gx2's fan, very much under stress, but this was to be expected. But then again, I'm not willing to pay 150 EUROS just for the watercooler for this card. ;)

Yeah, the intel coolers are pretty good, in my experiance (With the C2D stuff anyway).

The price of the block for the GX2's is to be expected, really, what with the complexity of the whole thing. I bet there's going to be the same problem with the 98 series stuff, being dual PCB design.

Yeah it was to be expected, but it is too much I wanna pay for it (it's a second hand card after all that I got pretty cheap). :)

                        Cheap ftw!

Air coolers are damn near as good these days anyway, so W/C is losing its lustre.

Oh that is so f**king cool. A few questions: 1. How did you do the rust effect? 2. Were the CD/floppy dirves always silver? If not, how do you paint the tray without having to take the thing apart/ruin the drive?

      Thanks!

      1. I just took some red colour, mixed it with a few drops of metallic silver, and went for it. Airbrush, brush, and fingers.

      2. Nope, had to paint them as well, and I did take them apart, but that was really easy.

Hey, I didn't realise this until I looked at those board pics, but that case is DOUBLE height. Why do you need so much space?

Well it's a regular big tower, maybe only slightly oversized. And it's not much wider than a CD-drive. But believe me, inside it's a mess, no space left for anything.. :/
